Kisumu City, the business centre of the Nyanza region, sits on the shores of Africa’s largest freshwater lake.  Kogello, American President's Barrack Obama’s ancestral home, is a few kilometres from Kisumu. 

The inhabitants of this province are the originators of the unique benga beat of rhythmic music.

There are also numerous stone formations to be viewed here that are rich in legend, such as Kit Mikayi and Lwanda Magere.
